Eligible requirements for the Capital One Cyber Security Internship Program

Eligibility requirements include the following:

The applicant must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program or higher, expecting to complete the most recent full-time degree by August 2026 or sooner (for instance, if graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in May 2025 and also enrolled in a full-time Master’s program concluding in May 2026, the most recent full-time program is the Master’s degree).
You must continue in the same field of study for your most recent full-time degree program after the internship ends.

Qualification for Capital One Cyber Security Internship Program

Preferred qualifications include the following:

Currently having, or being in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical and/or quantitative area, such as computer science, computer engineering, cybersecurity, information assurance, information systems, information technology, or mathematics.
A strong interest in pursuing a career in cybersecurity is desired.
You should have an understanding of cybersecurity concepts like operating systems analysis (MS Windows/MacOS) and network forensics (Kali Linux).
Knowledge of basic network security and protocols (such as encryption, firewalls, authentication, honeypots, and perimeter protection) is expected.
You should have completed coursework in IT fundamentals, cloud security, cryptography, network security, and/or database security.
Strong analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, and conceptual skills are necessary.
Additionally, strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills are important.
Working knowledge of programming or experience in one or more of the following languages is preferred: Java, Python, C#, C/C++, JSON, Visual Basic, SQL, PL/SQL, or Shell scripting.
